Penny stocks dominated daily trading activity

The market continued its dip with ASPI declining while the MPI remained rather flat. LMF topped the turnover list crossing of over 5m shares. Penny stocks dominated daily trading activity with high volumes in Muller and Phipps, Tess Agro and Free Lanka. All Share Price Index declined by 0.54% to close at 6930.04 while the liquid Milanka Price Index declined by 0.01% to end the day at 6270.41. Volumes increased by 55% to 297m, whilst turnover increased by 33.4% to Rs.3.1Bn.
The gainers list was led by Sathosa Motors and Regnis while Ascot Holdings and Commercial Dev. led the Losers.
LMF topped the turnover list with Rs.590m to the day’s turnover whilst Tess Agro dominated the volume list with 31m shares.
A total of Rs.340m net FII outflow was witnessed for the day.
