The positive sentiment in the bourse continued

The positive sentiment in the bourse continued with both indices recording a 1.5% gain for the day. Turnover surpassed Rs 3.5bn with transactions in Hayleys and LB Finance contributing 59% to the day’s turnover. Aitken Spence also witnessed several crossings during the day contributing another Rs.500mn to the turnover.
All Share Price Index gained by 1.6% to close at 5507.60 while the liquid Milanka Price Index gained by 1.49% to end the day at 4803.60.
Volumes increased by 5.2% to 88mn, whilst turnover increased by 143.5% to Rs.3.7bn.
The gainers list was led by Udapussellawa and Agstarfertilizer while Harischandra and Merc. Shipping led the Losers.
Lb Finance topped the turnover list with Rs.1.1Bn to the day’s turnover whilst Blue Diamonds [Non Voting] dominated the volume list with 8m shares.
A total of Rs.530mn net FII inflow was witnessed for the day.
