Market Watch Daily: Activity dries up despite marginal gains

A mixed note could be witnessed in the bourse while ASPI and MPI made marginal gains. However the volumes were thin in the absence of a proper market direction. However, HNB recorded a crossing where 210,000 shares were traded at LKR 130 while the share price closed at flat at LKR 132 gaining 0.38%. Accumulation could be witnessed in PABC while retail investors showed interest in ECL, COMB. The share price of CARS recovered to a certain extent today to help ASPI gain.
• Bank, Finance and Insurance sector contributed mostly to the market turnover (due to HNB and PABC) and the index gained 0.51%.
• S&P SL 20 index, weighed by the price depreciation of CARG, SLTL and HAYL, closed in red.
