The bourse continued its bull run for the 9th consecutive day with the ASPI gaining 2%, while marginally closing below the 5500 mark. Turnover surpassed Rs.1.7bn with crossings being witnessed in JKH, Ceylon Tobacco, Sampath Bank, Lanka Orix Finance and PCH Holdings during the day.
Foreigners were net buyers for the day.
All Share Price Index gained by 2% to close at 5497 while the liquid Milanka Price Index gained by 2% to end the day at 5093.
Volumes increased by 8.2% to 147mn, whilst turnover increased by 61.7% to Rs.2bn.
The gainers list was led by Pc House and Huejay while Swadeshi and Kalamazoo led the Losers.
Sampath Bank topped the turnover list with Rs.342m to the day’s turnover whilst Lankaorixfinance dominated the volume list with 23m shares.
A total of Rs.155mn net FII inflow was witnessed for the day.
